Marwyn @marwyn23cnx and the Greater Bay Lions are U12 AA Champions at the Bell Capital Cup in Ottawa 🏆
One of the most competitive youth hockey tournaments in the world—and an incredibly difficult one to win.
The Bell Capital Cup brings together elite teams from across Canada and around the world every year, making this championship a truly special accomplishment.
Huge congratulations to Marwyn and his team on an outstanding achievement.
Marwyn is one of the hardest-working kids you’ll meet. He loves the game, plays with real passion, and is such a great kid to be around. The future is bright—keep working hard, buddy. We’re incredibly proud of Marwyn here in Chiang Mai and excited to see his continued growth on and off the ice.

The Mekong Cup began in 1995 when a group of Canadian and international ball hockey players based in Bangkok wanted to create a fun tropical tournament during the Stanley Cup finals season. What started as a casual competition on a rugged outdoor court in Phuket grew into Asia’s longest-running ball hockey tournament, attracting teams from across Asia and beyond.
Originally featuring just a few teams from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, the event expanded over the years to include squads from Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Cambodia, Slovakia, Canada and more, reflecting the sport’s growing community across the region.
For many years it was held in Phuket, often at resort venues like the Centara Karon Resort, but its roots remain closely tied to the Bangkok ball hockey scene — especially through teams like the Bangkok Thai Stix, one of the tournament’s most enduring competitors and organizers.
Today the Mekong Cup is celebrated not only for its competitive ball hockey but also for the camaraderie and cultural exchange it fosters among players and fans from around the world.
